Support the inspiring legacy of Santiago Iglesias Pantin
Formed nonprofit corporation and received 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exemption status.
Created a standalone website (www.santiagoiglesiaspantin.org) that makes images, documents, videos, songs and other information about SIP available to the general public. The website ranks near the top in page rankings in three major search engines (Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo. We are making ongoing content additions and are open to suggestions.
Facilitated the bequest of 20 SIP-related objects from Santiago Iglesias Belendez, Haydee Iglesias Belendez, and Tim Iglesias to the Smithsonian Institution for its permanent collection and for a possible SIP exhibit, including in the future Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino (latino.si.edu). The Collections Committee was thrilled with our contributions!
Met initial $10,000 fundraising goal within six months. IFF received donations from 18 family members and 15 friends who hail from 12 states and Puerto Rico.
Sponsored the first Annual SIP Essay Writing Contest with our partner Escuela Superior Santiago Iglesias in Ceiba in April 2025.
Found more than a dozen SIP-named streets and another SIP monument in Puerto Rico. They are now featured on the map on our website.
