Support the inspiring legacy of Santiago Iglesias Pantin
Dear Supporters,
It's incredible what we've been able to accomplish in just one year thanks to your support. And we have several new projects that we invite you to help fund!
First, exciting news: we received $5,000 from a generous donor and your gift can help us triple it to fund a media lab at Santiago Iglesias Pantín Escuela Superior (High School) in Ceiba, Puerto Rico! We have embarked on a major fundraising effort, as the estimated cost is $20,000. Can you give today?
Here are some other IFF updates:
We established a memorandum of understanding with the University of Connecticut (UConn) to make a comprehensive, public archive website about Santiago Iglesias Pantín.
We're embarking on a new relationship with an early education daycare named after Santiago Iglesias Pantín, plus found more SIP-named streets throughout Puerto Rico, now featured on our map.
One of our partners shared where SIP is covered in the official curriculum for schools on the island.
And new projects:
We will cover the Montessori certification of two teachers at Santiago Iglesias Elementary in San Juan, with the understanding that these educators will author lesson plans about Santiago Iglesias Pantín we can share with other schools.
With UConn, we launched a massive endeavor to translate both volumes of SIP's autobiography, Luchas Emancipadoras. We hope to republish them in English and Spanish, which will require a substantial investment of about $10,000.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite everyone to donate for any of these projects. Join us in honoring the legacy of Santiago Iglesias Pantin, a champion for labor rights and social justice.
Please make a gift if you are able, and forward this email to anyone who you think would be inspired to support us.
Thank you in advance for your deep generosity! As they say in Puerto Rico, "esperamos que hallan pasado un feliz San Guibin" — we hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
Yours sincerely,
Tim, Diana, and Chago Iglesias
